New round of calls for microprojects

Project ideas can be submitted until 30 June

The European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 GmbH is organising the next round of microprojects. This citizen participation project is looking for creative projects in the city of Chemnitz and the cultural region that move the European Capital of Culture 2025 in the best possible way in accordance with the strategic objectives and project indicators from Bidbook II.

There will be two rounds of projects per year until the European Capital of Culture year 2025. These will take place in spring and autumn. Associations, initiatives and committed individuals can submit their project ideas for the current round digitally via the platform http://chemnitz2025.de/mikroprojekte from now until 30 June 2022.

Micro-projects can be supported with a sum of up to 2,500 euros each. Projects with a clear European dimension can receive up to 3,000 euros. A personal contribution to the funding is not required. The micro-projects must be implemented in the second half of 2022, i.e. from August to December 2022. The jury's consultation meeting will take place in mid-June, the exact date will be announced.

The submitted projects will be evaluated by the microproject jury on the basis of the strategic objectives and project indicators from Bidbook II. These have been simplified and summarised in five criteria, the so-called five C's, in the Chemnitz 2025 handbook. Each microproject must address at least one of the criteria of the five C's.

In exceptional cases, projects can also be submitted by post or email after consultation. In this case, all documents (a PDF form can be found at http://chemnitz2025.de/mikroprojekte/) must be sent by email to mikroprojekte(at)chemnitz2025.de or to the following address:

Kulturhauptstadt Europas Chemnitz 2025 GmbH, Moritzstraße 20, 09111 Chemnitz

Questions about the micro-projects can be sent to Jan Pietschmann, Tel. 0176 465 057 45, e-mail: mikroprojekte(at)chemnitz2025.de.
